Dr Shams Amir Shamsul Bahar is a consultant orthopaedic, hand and microsurgeon at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He treats conditions and injuries of the hand, wrist and upper limb, as well as general orthopaedic conditions.

He completed his medical degree at the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2007 and his Master of Orthopaedic Surgery at Universiti Malaya in 2015. He went on to complete subspecialty training in upper limb and reconstructive microsurgery at the University Malaya Medical Centre in 2020, under Professor Dato' Dr Tunku Sara Tunku Ahmad Yahaya. He is also a Certified Medical Impairment Assessor (NIOSH, 2015).

Before entering private practice, he spent six years as a Medical Lecturer at Universiti Malaya and an orthopaedic surgeon at the University Malaya Medical Centre, teaching undergraduate medical students and training postgraduate orthopaedic surgeons alongside his clinical work. He joined Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur in 2023.

He consults in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Professional interpreters in Mandarin, Japanese and Korean can be arranged through the hospital.
